Is that celcius? Seems really low for degrees F. You figure the trans temp will be about the same as coolant when started cold and slightly higher when warmed since the trans fluid is cooled with coolant. Did you do they whole "vehicle setup" part when you first installed it? If you didn't, the readings will be off

Yep, temp is F. I have the output Format in the parameters set at 10. And yes I went through the whole vehicle setup. I thought it was low also, but it is all highway, it is only in low 40's here and still raining. When I pulled off to go to Starbucks before work, it does creep up to 135-144.

    the only thing I changed was the X:0009 /:0005. +:FFD8 to this X:0001 /:0001 +:FFD8.

No shit! Never said they were the same. I said when COLD they should be about the same temp. Even when driving, if they are really far off, like 50-60 degrees, chance are it is incorrect.

on a recent trip up north my trans was about 115-130, while my coolant was a steady 186. In the mountains in the summer, my trans can climb to 200

Yea, I am pretty confident that these parameters are the correct ones, as with the first set I tried, the trans temp was way too high. I feel with these parameters now, the Trans temp is more like consistent with everyone else is seeing.

Thx for all the feed back

I have a 2005 without an aux trans cooler, I see these numbers as well. I want to add an aux trans cooler eventually though.

My numbers are with the factory cooler. It is IMO not well designed. Go big when you upgrade

This is what I was trying to point out. My garage heater is at 55 and when I first start the truck the coolant and trans are about the same as ambient temp. This is a good way to check if it is working. When up to temp, my coolant is around 185 and my trans 150-155 and it is around 30 degrees and snowing. In the summer, they are both pretty close to 200. With factory tow package and aux trans cooler.

bringing back an old thread. Can someone confirm the codes for trans temp on a 2012 try offroad with an automatic transmission and towing package? I'm getting an error based on the following parameters

Figured it out. Here are the settings I used to display transmission temperature for a 2012 trd offroad with an automatic transmission and factory towing package.

I'm looking at getting one of these so I can monitor my auto trans temp. You're all using the Ultragauge Plus? From what I'm seeing I just need to look thru this thread, install a new firmware for the device, enter some codes, and I'm good to go right?

I have not read every page in this thread, so some of you may be aware of this. Ultra-Gauge has a Wired and a Wireless version. Going thru the User Manuals it appeared the wireless option would not be able to read TFT.

I spoke via their support function awhile ago with Jim. He indicated the Ultra-Gauge Wireless Android version would read TFT. He pointed me to this:

    http://www.ultra-gauge.com/customer_support/knowledgebase.php?article=41

Just pointing this out as an option for those who might be interested in it.

On the flip side I have to remind myself of what member nd4spdbh offered up early in this thread.

Torque App Pro and an ELM327 Blue Tooth adapter for cheaper. Yes - it may have its drawbacks, but if you are using these types of devices for diagnostic trouble-shooting when issues arise like you would with a hand-held scanner and not for staring at a gauge while driving down the road, the Torque App/Elm327 Bluetooth dongle ain't a bad deal.

    Just sayin'.

well , I am confused now. Reading through this thing seeing the different pictures of the different screen shots of the gauges. Program this and that. The two different models UG has, one does this the other has that. I am assuming that it cant as confusing as reading this.
