So I have had my 30x9.5r15 BF Goodrich KO2s on my truck for a few months, and a few thousand miles.

A major concern I had when getting them was power loss. In some peoples opinions, 235s robbed to much power, which really made me think twice about 30s.

Long story short, I LOVE my tires! In my situation, and the ways I use my truck, it was the best upgrade I could have done.
My truck doesn't mind the snow as much as it used to before! The handling is much better too, and I can really feel the added grip!

    So hows the power loss?

Enough to notice, but in my opinion, not bad at all!
Power loss is noticeable down low, so you just have to accelerate a little bit more to get up to speed. The 4 cylinder with stock gearing still provides enough power to spin the tires! (see video below)

At the end of the day, its a truck, not a sports car. With 30x9.5s, the truck is way more capable, especially off the pavement.

Hope this helped at least one person on their 5 lug tire choice.

Heres the video I made, cruising around on some dirt roads:

Nice video man....I'm running 235 KO"s and didn't feel like I lost any power and I've tested and can say the KO's dig :mudding:

Once I wear out my current set (which will be a while) I plan on going bigger hopefully lol

Is your truck a manual (3.307), or an automatic (3.58) as far as your 3rd member goes?

I know with my 29.3" tire/rim and MT combo, 2nd gear is getting really lazy in overall acceleration - i can still aggressively start off in first.

My truck is an automatic with the 3.58. Like I said, I can only feel the power loss down low, but nothing I would describe as lazy at any point of accelerating.

I would imagine a manual with my tire setup would feel a more significant power loss than I have now.

According to my tracking on the fuelly app, It seems that only lost about 2 mpg!
Its honestly is not as thirsty as I expected it to be!

I have to remember to keep the rev's up in 2nd gear. It's not natural to me to have it above 2500rpm, to make power when needed.. so if in heavy traffic, i'm usually "that guy" gapping and closing on the guy ahead of me, rather than flowing with the traffic and braking down/accelerating in relative close line formation.. if that makes any sense.
