So after a ton of looking, I finally got the Tacoma I wanted.

2007 Double Cab TRD 4x4 6-Speed. It was a one Owner with 170,000 miles. From looking at the truck, I can tell it is meticulously maintained as everything is spotless on the vehicle.

I need advice on what typical maintenance issues to expect at this mileage, and what the first things I should do with my new truck to insure I can get another hundred (or three hundred) thousand miles out of it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have already changed the oil with full synthetic and am debating changing the transmission fluid next. I can tell the leaf springs are warn, so I am thinking about going ahead with a OME 2" lift with a full new heavy pack rear and front springs (eventually winch and bumper on front).

    Thanks in advance!

    Phil

There is a recall on leqf springs, but I doubt they'll ever fix it... Just get the Dakars... Leave the tranny fluid alone... You may want to change diff fluid....

I had to do the front wheel bearings on my 08 Taco at around 150,000 and the Air Con pump died at 120,000. They just sent me the recall notice for the leaf springs, but no timeline on when they are going to do them.. Looks like a really clean truck enjoy !

I'm hoping my 3rd Gen is going to be as reliable as my 2nd Gen was . :fingerscrossed:
