I brought mine in for the recall, this is how I got it back...

This is only a few of the photos. And this is AFTER they redid it because it wasn't done right the first time.

By the way, those photos were taken 4 days after the truck was picked up.

Got the call today, and my parts are all in. Took the truck in mid december. Only thing is I am deployed now and the family is in deleware, parts are in NC. Anyone want to take a road trip? Im working out details now to get a buddy up north and to drive my truck back down to do the swap. Even if it has to wait until I get back, its good knowing my frame is there waiting for me.

At dealer right now getting the frame checked out. Should know in about 15 minutes what the deal is. Hoping its looking good but I'm worried if all these other trucks are having issues what's stopping mine from rusting out in 5 years.

Make sure you check where the body mounts to the frame. Before you leave the dealer. Its your truck ! Check it inside out!

My question is this. After having all that work done. What about problems that creep up? This sounds like having work done on your old house, repair the plumbing downstairs, and a leak appears upstairs! Or, in auto terms, try replacing a master cylinder on an older vehicle and see if you don't wind up replacing wheel cylinders/brake lines in the near future.
Does anyone who has had their frame replaced have any info/comments in this regard? (just got my "good" news Friday, they're telling me 3-6 months for the parts, but my truck is "safe" to drive. Having destroyed any confidence i have in the truck to use it for pulling my camper this summer. I guess the yard will look better this year since i'll be home more)

Well I asked the dealer if they checked where the body is bolted on the frame and they said yea. Frame actually looks really good I just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything I was missing. Not much salt over this way.

An interesting analogy. But you either fix the plumbing and deal with the consequences or give up on running water. As far as not going camping is concerned you should let the dealer know that you don't fell safe towing. They kept my truck so I told the dealer I needed a vehicle with a hitch. They gave me two options. A 4runner or a Sequoia. Both brand new and both with hitches. For now I'm driving the 4runner but if I wanted to switch to the Sequoia they said just give them a couple days notice.

That's not a bad choice at all. Another guy on here got a Camry. I would have been pissed because I need a hitch and 4wd as well.

They told me I could have any vehicle in the courtesy fleet. Camry was one of the choices. The 4runner is a limited with 4wd. I was able to bring home a new water heater in it over the weekend.

Shoot. My dealership went thru Enterprise and I ended up with a Hyundai Accent when I brought it in for a check up. If my truck is in the shop when our camping trip comes up in June, I'm asking for a new Runner or new Taco.

Couldn't get a Tacoma. They don't have them in their loaner fleet. Maybe they're hoping I'll want to trade up when my truck's finished. But seriously if you need the hitch the dealer should find a way to take care of you.

this is mine at the last inspection on the 5th...

dealership said it passed(for the second time) and I opted to open a case.

I won't be getting home until next month after the campaign ends....
