leveling kit and mud tires with offset bulletholes wheels

do i have to take my lower shock mount bolt out to change lower ball joints? I've changed them before and I honestly can't remember and I'm not at my truck or I would just look. can someone help me out?

No leave the strut on so there is tension to break the ball joint stud loose can then just put a jack under the rotor/ hub to raise the spindle up away from the lca so you can get at the 4 bolts that hold the join on.
