I've been a 'haunter' on and off for a while. My recent experience with a new '16 Tacoma TRD Sport and an oil change prompted my joining. I've owned eleven Tacomas to date, and I still have four of them. All of them have been 4x4, all manual transmissions, all extra/access cabs, almost all of them with V6 engines, almost all of them TRD. With rare exception, all run Bridgestone Dueler (Revos now) heavy (10-ply now) truck tires (40psi and stiff shocks/struts). For those interested, here's the list:
    86 Tacoma - 4 cyl, 5 speed
    91 Tacoma - 6 cyl, 5 speed
    98 Tacoma - 6 cyl, 5 speed
    00 Tacoma - 6 cyl, 5 speed
    04 Tacoma - 6 cyl, 5 speed
    05 Tacoma - 6 cyl, 6 speed
    07 Tacoma - 6 cyl, 6 speed
    09 Tacoma - 6 cyl, 6 speed
    10 Tacoma - 6 cyl, 6 speed
    11 Tacoma - 6 cyl, 6 speed
    16 Tacoma - 6 cyl, 6 speed

Only the 09, 10, 11, and 16 are in my possession presently. I don't think the 86 and 91 are still on the road, but my bet would be on the 91 if I were to bet. The 98 might still be on the road. The 00 went back to Toyota on frame rot. The 04 got reframed after I traded it in and someone is enjoying a brand new, old truck. The 05 and the 07 are still road worthy (07) or on the road (05). All of them have been quite good to me, and I've enjoyed, or enjoy, each one of them. For as 'same' as they are, the all drive slightly differently. The 6 speed manual is just fun to drive. (I'd take a 7 speed if they offered it.) I'm a die-hard manual transmission driver. I won't switch to an automatic until I'm old and creaky. I might be old now, and maybe a bit creaky (or was that cranky), but I'm not going automatic for some time yet.

Weird things happen to my trucks (or maybe it's me): a broken rear leaf spring, A/C compressors going out, a shredding serpentine belt (caused the truck to lose coolant, and lost power steering shortly after that), rear locker sending unit went bad, the brake pedal switch went away on two of them (dreaded blinking cruise control light), the clutch master cylinder went bad on the 07, O2 sensors going bad on the 04, a front sway bar rusted off the frame.

For the most part, I get very close to EPA rated fuel economy on my trucks. It isn't difficult really. Don't 'romp' on it and use the cruise control. I haven't replaced a clutch yet (and I don't intend to do so), and I rarely replace brakes (and I'm pretty unhappy if I have to). I'm absolutely anal about oil changes.

Welcome! That's awesome. But technically you've only owned 9 Tacomas as they weren't Tacomas until 95.5 :D

This will be me in the future hoarding all Toyotas lol
