    Hey TacomaWorld,

I got my first Tacoma in July, 2015. 2015 TRD Sport DCSB. I haven't done much to it yet, but in the past week I finally found a second hand topper on craigslist and then this weekend I built a platform for sleeping, and storage underneath.

Although it's only a 5 foot bed, I am shorter, and can sleep diagonally with my dog. Now I just need to get out and go camping. I have everything I need camping wise.

Here is my platform set up. The total cost to me was $0. All the wood and fabric was extra that my dad or brother had, and they had all the tools we needed to build it. We built it so that there are three removable sections in the back, and also I can easily remove the entire thing myself.

Here are some random pictures I took of it. The snow picture was near Niwot, CO and the mountain pictures were near Peak to Peak Hwy, and Hwy 7, just West of Lyons.

Welcome and hey I wanted to see if you had some insight on where to do a little camping in an isolated area. My family will be around the Denver area and there should be around 13 of us. Only 3 or 4 vehicles. I've read a little about Guanella Pass and Jone's Pass Road, not familiar though.

Don't want to go too crazy wheeling if I can as I will have my aging parents along. Some 4WD would be fun though. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, I haven't been to either of those areas. I only really explored a bit west of Boulder and Lyons. There were a lot of camping spots off of forest services roads all around there, and their were some that had enough room for 13 people. Some that I noticed were near Gold Hill, CO and Switzerland Pass. Really easy to drive into with a little bit of clearance. Same goes for where I was near Hwy 72 and Hwy 6 off Forest Road 2171. Sorry I can't be more help.
