Thank you BensonX for this wonderfully detailed write-up! I also put your information to good use and fabbed my own out of aluminum stock. I used thick washers (ground flat on two sides) instead of T-bolts in the rails. The measurements you provided for the brackets were spot on. The hi-lift is rock solid in its mount. Thanks again!

Maybe $20 in parts I am guessing. $30 at the very most, but I doubt it. I made mine long enough ago that I don't remember.

Exactly correct. Lowe's was having a 20% off all long handled tools when I purchased them, and the axe seemed the best around for the price (considering their warranty too).

Installed the tools mounts by @Benson X this weekend. I needed to do a bit of fabrication work to have them play nice with the tonneau cover (both use the bed rail system). Even still, the total install time was 1 hour. Thank you very much for the easy instructions Ben, you are the man!

Awesome! Thanks for posting pics Brenden - and I'm glad to see you were able to get them to work with your tonneau!

Awesome thread !! Thanks for putting this together!! I used 3in wide steel and added extra holes and rubber grommets for a lock. I also used 1in angle iron instead of bending the metal.

That's a good idea you have with the lock.

Hell yes!!! That's 100% Pure BEEF - brilliant thinking with the lock and overall design.

    Really awesome job, Eric!

What toolbox are you using? I have something similar but bigger and want something more like the one you have.

It's the Plano 191900 "Sportsman's Trunk." I originally got it from Home Depot for around $30 about 5 years ago. You can still find them locally and online for around the same price.
