Oh and I have no control of the break in period. If anything is replaced it has to be broken in. So if I replace my valves, which I believe are busted, I have no choice. Thank my stepdad for the valves

@kyle11863 (Kyle) and/or @MuricaTaco (Nick), how do you know if you need tire chains other than them posting? If you have 4WD and they post "snow chains required", would I still need to put on chains? I'm asking because I keep hearing two different theories.
    1) if you have 4WD, you don't need to?
    2) even if you have 4WD, you still have to?

Also, is it just the rear tires or ALL four that require the chains?

So, WHICH is correct if you come up on a sign that says "snow chains required" and you have a 4WD vehicle??? I've heard too many of both theories to NOT know which is the actual correct one!!!???:annoyed:

My experiences with snow driving is very little myself, but it does NOT mean I have not driven in some REALLY BAD SHI_!!! I was in Iowa during a really bad snow storm driving a really old Chrysler/Dodge 4door sedan with regular semi-decent tires AND, NO chains... LOL!!! Had to drive ON/OFF in that for almost a month, but other than that, my snow driving experiences is next to nothing. I just want to know about my questions above so just in case I come up on these signs IF I happen to be in the 4WD, do I need chains or not???

I highly doubt I will be able to go though? Gotta take care of family members first ;) Thanks ahead of time bros if you can answer the questions!!! Hope to wheel with you guys again!!!

@ODNAREM Good morning bro!!! I'm eating one of my favorite cereals this morning, Raisin Bran... LOL!!! With extra sugar of course... LOL!!! :hungry:

Thanks Danny!!! Lame question for me to ask, but are chains hard to put on? Other than that, understood and thanks again bro.

Hey @WileECoyote, chain restrictions are determined by caltrans. There are 3 different types of restrictions... R1, R2, and R3. With our trucks only R2 and R3 are a factor. When caltrans sets the road conditions to R2, this Means ALL 2wd vehicles must have chains on there drive wheels only. 4wd or all wheel drive are ok without them. R3 road conditions mean that ALL vehicles on the road way must have chains on the drive wheels. It only even gets R3 up in the mountains when it's really deep snow(2-4ft or more) and "white out conditions ". Does not happen to often in big bear. For most smaller snow storms it never gets past R2 conditions.

If you call 909 866-road they give you updates on the roads closures and or chain requirement level for the so cal mountains. You can also call cal trans 1-800 #. To find out the same info before traveling in the mountains. Also you asked if you need chains on all four wheels? You only need them on you drive wheels. Also chains are more durable but are more of a pain to put on. Cables are much easier and more cost effective than chains but a bit less durable.

When you purchase some it's a smart idea to do a "practice" run in your driveway or something for installation before you hit the snow raods so you know how to put them on. Last thing you want to be doing in a freezing snow storm is trying to learn on the side of the road on how your chains fit on your truck.

*edit as @dtaco06 had mentioned...by law ALL vehicles must carry chains or cables in there vehicles at all times when traveling in the mountains during winter months. From my experience as well caltrans/chp only set up checkpoints though to check for chains once the snow storm in getting significant accumulation(about 4-6in or more) in both my tacoma's (pre-runner & 4x4) they always have just waved me through and never checked me to see if I have chains in the vehicle. They are mostly stopping cars and suvs.
