Here's a night pic from @tacomgee with only the pods.

He's got the 40W floods in the bumper and 20W floods as ditch lights.

I think maybe another week and a half or so? I hope we can hit 20 so the price drops.

I'm interested in the 40w, but am I correct that the new GB price is $30 higher than last time?

Yes and no. I'm using a new supplier so prices are a bit more.

The last GB was for 20w pods too so the price is similar in those, actually cheaper with shipping.

The 40w are more due to the 10w Cree chips.

Got it, thanks for the quick clarification. I'll let you know if I decide to go ahead with the GB.

Ok count me in. @IGGY can you help me decide what would be best as reverse lights in my brute force bumper? I'm thinking of the flood but wondering if the driving lights would be better... Also not sure if I should wire em to factory reverse or run a switch. Any input appreciated!

    3w and 5w Cree is 6000-6500k
    10w Cree is 5700-6350k

I personally like the diffused lens for backup lights. But some 12w floods might be good too.

I wired mine to a switch so I can turn them on whenever I want. The diffused beam makes great area lighting at night or camping, but you can easily wire them in to the reverse lights using the relay.

@Iggy. What would work better in the front bumper, flood or difussed?

Is there a big noticeable difference between the 20w and 40w flood?

I would like a pair of flood and a set of driving lights. And what is the difference between 20w and 40w?

The difference is quite a bit. The 40w in flood and spot are brighter than the 20w in the same. Diffused is different because of the lens and you need the brighter LED's to make sure you have enough light.

Which one you choose depends on your application. If you want have lots of light up front then get the 40's, if you want them as fog lights then get something smaller like a 12 or 20.

Light output is the biggest difference and power consumption. If you are looking for lower power usage and good light the 12's are great. More light the 20's, but max performance is in the 40's.

    You got it!
