I wanted to know if the gauges are back lit?

What I mean by that is does it need the headlights and parking lights to be on for it to be lit or does it function independently

I am asking because I could of swore I use to see mine function independently without the lights switched on before or am I imagining things

They are back lit, but are dependent on the light switch to make that happen....not sure if this is what your looking for....they do not come on by any other means besides the light switch that I know of.

Hmmm ok, I thought they were backlit with or without having our lights switched on.

I guess I'm getting confused with my other car lol

Well if anyone else can test and chime in. I have the auto light function but I was under the impression they come on when it's dark out with or without the lights being on.

2nd Gens are backlit, 3rd Gens are not. Light switch dependant on 3rd Gens.

Dang maybe I was imagining things then. Yours is a limited? so they only come on with the auto headlight function then huh...

I guess I was use to the previous cars I had, which all had that feature.

I agree, they should be Backlit all the time. Not just when you have headlights on. Most modern cars do this.

Ya, I have the limited with auto headlights, and had a '13 limited before. Think the deep recessed gauges were the reason for the backlit lights. Don't really think they are necessary on the Gen3. Can see all the gauges just fine without being backlit.
