hey Tacoma world. i dropped my spare today in preparation for my HC rear bumper. i noticed that the tire was dry-rotted and had some serious side wall indentations from being pulled really tight into the mounts under the bed. my question is can i even put a 35 inch spare on that wheel with whatever backspacing it has and have it not rub like crazy? i guess i could always only put it in the back if i have to use it . just curious if anyone has done this or not.

Nope, a 35 won't fit back under the bed. You'll have to find another place to put it.

Ahhh I guess I misunderstood. No, it will rub horribly. Drop some coin on one that has proper backspacing.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
And width. If its the off road spare it will be 7" wide, which is too narrow for a 12.5" tire in my opinion. I have tried the wide tire and skinny wheel and unless you want to run it under pressure it will probably wear funny down the middle. If you want to have a matching spare why not buy a matching rim so you can rotate it in with the other 4? Oh yeah, monies.

Well... I'd say spending a hundo on a wheel with the correct backspacing would be better than being stuck somewhere with a flat or having your nice new 35 making its own room in your wheel wells. :)

I bought a brand new steel wheel with the exact dimensions of my alloys. same backspace, offset, and size. But I have a 32" tire and it still fits under the bed

I had a Pro comp Steelie I bought from wheelers with 4.25 backspacing. It worked for my 32" spare, but unless you have glass or chopped fenders it might stick out too far for your 35's to clear.

What wheels do you run now?
