I will never forget 12 or so yrs ago I almost killed someone on 24. Middle lane looking to go right. Mirror check..blinker..head check..mirror check. I begin and in less than a second a bike who had to have been going 120 came right up on me and changed into that lane..no signal, no nothing. Had I not pulled back he was dead. Then he waves me over..FU I'd rather you in front of me. Then he flips me off!

If you have road rage inclinations, motorcycles aren't for you. You can get tangled up with a Smart car and you're still going to lose that battle.

I will say I was not always a rational driver. I used to be VERY aggressive

About 7 years ago I saw the same NY Trooper pull 3 different people over between the CT/NY boarder and Taconic Parkway. First one she already had pulled over just past the boarder. Flew past me and tagged the second one by the Carmel exit. Flew past me again and hit the next one at the Taconic Pkwy exit. It's stuck in my memory because the Trooper was a rather short African American gal and looked like she could be about 100lbs wet - probably could kick my ass in one swoop too... This was on Thanksgiving Day morning. Needless to say, the cruise was set to the speed limit...

I think riding a motorcycle has made me a better driver in my car. I am much more alert driving now than I used to be. I never texted, but I feel like I am just more aware of my surroundings because I have to be when I am on my bike.

Trail riding is where it's at... Anyway! With a long back and forth, they failed my frame! I think seeing how much it was deforming at the spring hangers motivated them... took it in today and they got the go ahead from Toyota corporate. :yay:

That is awesome Cam. Did they say how long? Also don't let them up sell you, they will replace more than just the frame due to liabilities

From your descriptions, I'm amazed that it took them that long to fail it, honestly.

I'm glad they did. It would have been a massive undertaking to fix the rot... I'll easily get another 10-15 years out of her now!

I can borrow the gf's subie, or carpool. I'd rather they have it a couple months and I can still work, as opposed to me taking a couple of months, at least, to fix it.

So one of my coworkers came in this morning looking like death warmed over, stayed for about an hour and went home because she said her stomach wasn't feeling well and she had a massive headache and thought it might be the flu. I was just browsing facebook on my break, and saw that last night she checked in to a bar (in BANGOR) with a live band at 11:15. I looked up the bar and the band, and found out that the band closed the bar down last night, and didn't start their set until 11. Turns out that this chick is friends with one of the members of said band, so she probably stayed for most of the show (if not all of it), and then had a 90 minute drive home afterwards.

Now, I've got no problem if you want to go to a bar after work, or if you want to stay out late and burn the candle at both ends, as long as you show up and do your job the next day. But her ditching the rest of us because she was hungover and tired because she can't make grownup decisions is a dick move. We run a fairly small crew, and it's a busy office (7 of us handle the orders/questions/stock checks/problems for over 10,000 accounts between Maine & Virginia). So if somebody calls out it means the rest of us really have to hustle to make up the difference.

    I hate people.

That's a big indicator of maturity, planning ahead and asking for time off, or leaving early enough to get some rest

Yep, as a mature adult, I just request my hangover days off in advance. It's less stressful for all involved, my work doesn't expect me to come in, and I don't even try to wake up on time, go through the hassle of getting to work and struggling through my day with a hangover. Win-win!

Yeah, this girl is one of the least mature people I know. She's 30, and she still lives like she's 21. Can't keep a boyfriend for many many reasons, drinks too much every night, is constantly late or calling out sick, and is constantly complaining about how she's broke and needs to get a part-time job so she can keep up with her bills (but if she actually worked her full shifts every week she'd have 15 hours of overtime every week, which would net her more pay than a part-time job would be likely to)
    :der:

It's amazing she only has one kid, too, because she's kind of fast and loose, but that's not really a work-related issue unless you count lost productivity from her multiple pregnancy scares.
