So about two days ago, I was driving home from work at about 2 o clock in the morning (I work a night shift) and as I am driving down a back road for usual commute I pass a red Mustang, it had to be at least 2012 or above. As I drove pass this car I heard something hit the front of my truck and a liquid splashed on my windshield. I immediately slammed on the brakes in shock. It then hit me... "This Motherf***er just threw something out of his car", so I spun my Tacoma around like you see in the movies and I gunned it. Sadly that man (or lady-boy) also knew what he did, he was gone. I did not get a license plate number or anything, as I got home I found that he threw a solid container at my truck that actually shattered part of my headlight. I haven't been that mad in years...

So the real question is can anyone give me some insight on some good replacement headlights???
I am not opposed to just buying another stock headlight. But I would to know some good ones maybe any of you would recommend. p.s. I will put a picture of the damage up asap.

Agreed, I will forever be a sceptic when I see a red Mustang. Sadly living in California, every third car is a Mustang.

I've actually had the same thing happen in my girlfriend's vehicle, beer bottle to the windshield. Actually dented/cracked the windshield in the clear shape of a bottle. I've never been so mad, so I completely get where you are coming from.

For replacements I would stick with OEM, especially on a new truck. You could use it as an opportunity to upgrade to the TRD Pro lights, but would require replacing both rather than just the one. See the pics in the later part of this post:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-headlight-upgrade-not-led-or-hid.398066/

Edit: I should add cheap aftermarket lights often don't have a good beam pattern so they preform worse, the seals are poor so they get water inside and are just not the same quality as OEM in design or materials.

Thanks I will definitely look into the OEM, TRD pro option. Is it a difficult task to change those out?

And the only question I have as far as those projectors youre selling. I have seen a lot of those kinds on trucks, most seem to just blind other drivers. So how do those stack up?

There are links in the thread I posted above on the remove/install procedure. It isn't difficult, just takes a little time and patience.

Projectors done properly should not blind other drivers. It is putting HID/LEDs that are not designed for halogen reflectors, into the OEM halogen housing that blinds other drivers.

Projectors, or retrofits, are the way to go in terms of light production (and looks IMO).

Had this kind of thing happen to me before as well; someone threw a wrench at my truck while driving on the freeway. Was able to follow them home and have a "talk." Hopefully you can catch up to the prick that did that.

There is a thread somewhere here about them. Consensus is that they don't put out the kind of light they were looking for.

Will look for the thread for ya.

Exactly what the other guys said about the projectors. They create a very defined cutoff line tha directs the light out instead of scattering the light like HIDs in standard headlights do.

That is a pretty serious crime throwing things from a vehicle at another, the police would definitely take action if they were to catch the asshole.
