    Aloha,

My wife and I are visiting Lanai in the end of November and planning to rent a jeep for one day. I have read the yelp reviews of the following companies, which are all very negative: Dollar, EcoCentre, Cheap Jeep Rentals.

If you have had good experiences with other rental companies on Lanai, or any suggestions, I would love to hear. Thank you.

No matter which you choose. They're all located in the same place, Lanai is town is damn tiny. Dont be discouraged by yelp reviews. Hell, when we go over to Lanai from maui, we just choose the rental company with the shortest line.

Enjoy Lanai. Let me know if you make it across to maui at all.

Hell, now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure I've seen a Toyota for rent there

May not be your thing and a little more expensive than the others is 808 hummers. Yes they rent out H2's. The guy is cool and he lets you take the hummers anywhere. Some of the others have restrictions as to where you can and can't drive.

Thanks guys. Sorry about the late reply. I was out of town and I was not checking emails or TW.

numbah57 - you are right. I should not be discouraged too much by Yelp. I will probably go with the EcoCentre as they have quoted the lowest rate, $90. Yeah, I read about the Hummer rental. Unfortunately too pricey for me. Maybe when I have another chance to visit Lanai, I would consider seriously.

I have visited Kauai for 7 plus times, Oahu 3 times, Big Island 3 times, and Maui 2 times. Each island has its own personality. Would love to visit Maui again!;)

$100 a day seems to be the going rate up there. Some locals rent out their trucks mostly to hunters during season. There are a hand full of Tacos for rent. Even saw a 3rd gen up there a few days ago. I remember seeing a Hummer with a broken axle for months out on one of the main dirt roads.

Cheep Jeep Rentals quoted me $140. My understanding is that they charge around $100-150/day. I will check if Tacoma is available. Thanks.
