So I feel I have completed quite a bit of research on what components are required for lifts, and how changes to the stock suspension will be effected by after-market parts. The end goal is to achieve a lift between 2-2.5" that will have an overall improved ride(Both on/Off-Road). As far as tire size goes, as good as 285's look, I wouldn't say I want to go through the trouble of making them fit. Parking in Downtown can be tight, so I usually go into full lock quite often as I'm backing in or pulling out of parking spaces.

What has been a bit challenging to finalize is which suspension kit to go with. By not having a 4x4, I know I'm already limited, but also I never really anticipate venturing into any arduous terrain.

Living in San Diego, I really just plan to go to the desert for a few meets, the mountains during snow season, and if I'm feeling adventurous, maybe going on some light trails.

I also have the mindset of "buy once, cry once", so I've looked at what I feel are some middle ground pieces to get me where I think I should be.

I've been pretty interested in the following:

Bilstein 6112's for the front with 5160's in the rear and an Icon 3-Leaf AAL.

Fox 2.5" Coilovers for the front with Fox 2.0's in the rear and an Icon 3-Leaf AAL.

OME 884's Front with Dakar Leaf Pack.

all kits I would elect to go with LR UCA's.

For the UCA's it has been a bit tricky to nail down information on how LR VS Cambug VS Total Chaos Differ. I understand Camburg and TC use a uniball system, but unfortunately I don't understand much more from there.

So, what are your thoughts on these options? Are these overkill for what I'm looking to achieve and the terrain I see myself venturing on?

Uniballs are much stronger, but they will wear out and require replacement faster than balljoints. They can offer more travel before binding, depending on set up. They can also squeak.

For what will mostly be a commuter / pavement truck, go with the LR balljoint UCA's.

Great to know! Help would definitely be appreciated. I live downtown so I don't have a garage or really any tools for the job.
