OME Nitrocharger question

Looking at the rear nitrocharger shocks, I see it comes with new bushing for each end but I didn't see any metal sleeves to go between the bolt and the bushing. Is the sleeve required?

The part # on both boxes is 60062. These are for the rear. I thought one shock was supposed to be longer?

 

No sleeves in any brand shock for the rear shocks.

 

Ok gotcha. So the bolt just goes through the bushing or do I need to find a sleeve? Basically, is a sleeve necessary?

 

There kinda us a bushing welded to truck.

 

Thanks koditten. Think I'll do a write up/diy thing for all the work i am doing to my truck this weekend. Unless another OME install/front end rebuild picture thread would be excessive for this site.

 

you sure those shocks are the correct ones? just saying cause my truck has eyelets on both ends not a stud/eyelet combo. and some trucks use a special dual bolt ear/stud combo.

 

Bottom pic is of rear shocks for 1st gen Tacoma. I don't know what the 2 top pics fit.

 

Yes both my rear shocks have the eyelets. Same part # for both sides too.

 

eyelets like the blue shock in my post? cause you bought a shock that looks like the yellow one, and it wont fit on your truck.

you got the right mounting type.

 

ok so with those eyelets, those shocks are ~3 inches longer than stock. Do you have any lift on your rear end, or is it still stock? if you have a lift, you may need longer shocks. your stock shock is about 19.75 inches extended.

if you have a 3 inch you may want to look into getting the OME 60044 (25.2 extended), otherwise you may end up ripping off the shock mount like I did.

Thanks for the info! I have a set of dakars going on at the same time. I bought it as a kit to take the guess work out of it.

 

It is correct That One shock should be Longer than the other....

Just got off the phone with wheelersoffroad. The fellow there told me the rear shocks should be the same. Some applications call for 2 different shocks but for my situation (dakars, 02 double cab) both shocks should be the same.

 

Its not that they "should be the same" but more like you can get away with it in this situation.
