image.jpg After months of studying what Toyota/Lexus to buy I finally got the 16 Trd OR 4x4. Originally was looking for 2nd gen 2012-2015 same trim but my eyes got bigger on the 5.7 tundra, the GX470 and eventually the 2014+ 4Runner trail and limited. It was a split between the Taco and the 4Runner. I like the fact that the 4Runner is still made in Japan but the tow rating is 5k and its not a truck. I needed the utility of a truck despite that I read somewhere that over 40% of production of 2016 tacomas are made in Mexico,(mine too). Test drove all mentioned models and like the way the Tacoma fit and handled. Contacted about 12 dealerships within 500 miles via email and ended up with three negotiating prices within 300 miles.
Bought mine 4.2 miles from my house for $33800 + $150 doc and file fees. My county in Wa. has 8.7% tax so that tacks another $3k. It's the TRD OR crew cab 4x4 in automatic and had it for almost two weeks now. I've read some advice on this forum on greasing the zerks, topping off the tranny fluid and image.jpg handling that annoying wind howl so I'm glad to have found this forum and very much appreciate all the time and effort with the tips and know how for rookies like me.

Welcome to the club. I got my trd sport just before Xmas and I love it. This forum is very helpful but can also lead to a slimmer wallet on upgrades lol
