I have a 2005 Tacoma and the wheels are just starting to peel.

I have always wanted black or gun metal grey rims; and don't mind the look of the OEM rims. I just don't know what to do with the center caps.

Is there a source of black center caps or do people try and paint them?

I'm not how sure how hard it would be to match powder coating to spray paint.

Anyone have have any pictures to OEM rims painted black?

The Powder coater that I used painted the caps to match the wheel. That being said, any type of plastic paint (Krylon Fusion) or such will work. The little toyota emblem pops out of the center of the cap. I took mine off before handing them in and will pop it back in when I get them back. The small chrome logo looks good on the satin black oem wheels with the stock lugs...IMO.

Try sanding and painting you wheels AND center caps yourself. It'll match perfect. If you reall F up they'll probably need to sandblast your wheels for powder coating anyway. Also if you really really mess up you can buy another set of the OEM wheels super cheap from TW members on here upgrading.

I ordered some black TRD marked factory caps off of Amazon in the hopes that they would fit my aftermarket wheels. Caps looked great but sadly didn't fit my wheels. If I planned on powder coating or painting my factory wheels I'd have kept and installed them.

If your powdercoat guy doesn't paint them (mine didn't), you could search around locally, you should be able to find an automotive paint supplier that can color match the powdercoat with a spray paint.
