Hello everyone, I have a question, do tires wear out because the ball joints get damaged? Or is there any other reason that they wear out in a specific side?
    Thanks

Essentially anything that has to do with steering, suspension, brakes, and load will affect tire ware. The steering system on our trucks have about 9 components. Suspension has something like 27 components. Brakes can have 70+ components. So I'll say this; any of those 100+ components on our trucks that have to do with those sections of the vehicle WILL affect tire ware! Some more so than others, but you get the idea.

Now, to answer your original questions. "....do tires wear out because the ball joints get damaged? Or is there any other reason that they wear out in a specific side?". Yes and no for both questions. It would be simpler to say "ball joints CAN cause tires to ware out on a specific side". Remember, the suspension section has 26 other components that can cause ware and there's more than 1 way for any of those components to fail.

From personal experience....yes your tires can wear unevenly if you have bad upper or lower ball joints.

There are other contributing factors...such as tire pressure, alignment, bad rims, etc.

lets see. the missing nut for the sway bar cant really do anything. but that's very odd that it didn't pop off without the nut holding it on. unless you didn't make any sharp turns at high speeds and took it very easy.

and the shock, yes, it could cause outside edge ware on your tires

shock bushings are the second likeliest reason for tire ware in your situation.

just go get an alignment done and have the tech inspect your ball joints while hes at it. he usually cant do a proper alignment if they're loose anyways. good way to find out
