It looks like there is a nut underneath that plastic cap, but after I loosen that, how does the wiper actually come off? Also, when I put it back on, will it matter what position the wiper is in, will it have to be adjusted or anything? Thank you.

Should pull straight up on the motor shaft and they should come off. Before pulling them off you could use some liquid paper and make a line across the shaft and arm so when you put them back on you can just line up the lines.

I would recommend a paint pen and make the marks with that. Alignment does matter.

I use a crescent wrench in an unconventional manner to pop them off after the nut is taken off. You want the inside of the "C" of the crescent wrench to pry up on the arm, right at the base. The outside of the "C" serves as the fulcrum of the lever. Works every time.

Thanks guys for the replies. I ended up popping them off when they were both in the lowest position, and put them back on just like they were, haven't tested them yet though.
