Has anyone gone through the Diesel Toys conversion?
I have a North American 2008 4.0L 4WD TRD Off Road and I'm very interested in this conversion.
Has anyone else gone through this conversion and was it worth it?
$27000 is a pile of money and I'm interested to hear anyone who's done this and their experience.
I'm thinking it would take a huge amount of time for this to pay off.

Also curious. If you read on their website, the reason it's so expensive, in part, is because they are purchasing entire trucks that have hopefully just been hit in the rear and totaled. This means you are getting all the factory components needed for a successful conversion, and not just an engine swap.

Frame rust aside, I think a 6spd diesel Taco would last forever. You'd get sick of the truck before it was even close to letting you down. LOL.

no offense.... I love my Tacoma

but for the cost of a Taco and another 27K, I think I would rather buy a full sized (used) Dodge dually diesel for about the same kinda money

Cool project, mega bragging rights, but too rich for me

It isn't ever going to "pay off".

I guess if you have an excessive amount of money go for it and let us know.

    :)
