$170 coupon on a brand new product that sells in every corner of the internet for $675. :anonymous:

Mine was actually free, just had to pay $675 for shipping. Nothing like a good ol' newest model year price gouging.

That may not sound as good as some exhausts that I have heard on some Tacos in the past but IMO it definitely didn't sound anything like a Honda Civic fart can.

Lets hope not, mine is on route! Most exhausts dont sound that great when revving from idle. The tone while driving sounded pretty good, far better than factory silent. The sound will only get better when removing the factory CAI and adding the new AFE one (out in July)

You're never going to get a complete V8 rumble without 8 cylinders

Got the new exhaust on the truck and paired it with an AFE High Perf filter. With both in ECT mode (use all the time), its now driving like a high performance truck. No lag, nice rumble and ECT mode does not suck gas - much, it just lets you rev higher..I dont know, maybe like a truck should!

Where you lose MPG is putting in sport shift mode and leaving it in 4th, your RPMs will stay high at speed...I recommend shifting it to 5th.

Back to Magnaflow exhaust..the noise is significantly higher in 2nd to 4th gear, not obnoxious, but a noticeable difference. Those looking for a V8 sound will just need to buy a V8, theres no magic muffler that will do that on a V6. Regardless I like the sound and it doesn't reek of obnoxious teen driver muffler delete. In 4th its minimal, cruising at 5/6th its gone...just as it should be.

I am still going to pair it up with an AFE CAI, when its available....and at some point add a S/C when the basic warrantee nears its end. That way I know if the engine is solid enough to support another 75-100HP. Coming from a Corvette, I need power to stay away from another sports car mistake!

To an earlier post - Sorry Mr fart can civic....no anal gas noises from my TRD Sport

That's great man... Enjoy. Unfortunately an exhaust and CAI does nothing for this engine except noise. And there is no S/C available for this motor. Even if there was one available, putting a S/C on a motor after the warranty runs out, which equals a tired motor, is like putting a tutu on a donkey. Sure it looks good, but it does nothing, in the end you just have an ass.

I can't say that I completely agree with you here. There is no S/C available for the 3.5L "yet", and there will not be one available from TRD, but it's coming. You are largely correct in saying that the intake and exhaust do very little although it has been proven that at least on the 4.0L there have been power increases on the top of the powerband. Unfortunately you sacrifice low end torque which is where these trucks need the help the most so I cannot say that it is worth doing to a N/A truck. The supercharger absolutely wakes these trucks up as well. Mine drives absolutely nothing like it did before I was boosted... just saying. I have a Corvette myself so I know what power feels like, but my truck is nothing like its former self. I have a supercharger on a truck with over 150k on the clock... and this tutu on this donkey seems to do something. I'd be willing to argue with you on whether or not it does "nothing". Is it worth the money? Well that's a different debate.

Wow, I'd have to disagree in every way, shape and form on that. Growing up in a household with a Ford Racing team mechanic he would have a field day with that comment. Ironically, I still dont like Fords...go figure.

I realize the TRD S/C program died in 2015, but a 3rd party will most likely have one in 3 years for the 2016, if not theres always tuning.

36K miles is not exactly a "tired" engine given that I see Tacomas plastered all over the internet selling with 200K plus miles. That donkey however looks very tired.

Ive already noticed a significant change with just an AFE filter and the magnaflow exhaust. The 2016s dont make peak power until higher RPMs compared to pre-2016, even though HP jumped another 45-50. Once in 3rd gear, I typically blow by every other truck on the road...thats "blow by" in truck standards anyways. :D

I have to somewhat disagree on losing low end power with a CAI, all 6 vehicles Ive put one in only made power on low end, nothing on the upper end. I'm adding a scoop attachment to the AFE CAI when it comes available...that may affect higher end power, maybe.

Given that Toyota vehicles are immensely weak on performance part choices, its really all I have to work with. Haven't researched it, but many claim you cant even tune Toyotas. That I'm not sure of.

And just to help you with that S/C "worth it" dilemma...oh its WELL worth it! Quite envious actually.
