Does anyone have experience with Jason Caps?

Before today I had never heard of them. I did get a great price quote though. Just under $1400 for a cab height, color matched, 1/3 slider side windows that also lift open the same way the back does. This is much lower than the A.R.E. or Leer quotes I have gotten, by a lot.

I just heard the name of this company today as well. Checked out their website quite a bit today - it needs modernized REALLY badly. And they need to hire someone to do marketing. If their caps are as crappy as their website and marketing I wouldn't touch their product.

However, I know nothing of their product. Their closest dealer to me is Cody, WY which is 200 miles away from me.

Thanks for the reply. I am still trying to find out about them. You would think there would be more info with as long they claim to have been in business...

I have a Jason cap. The fit and finish of the exterior paint and stock sliding windows are excellent, but the locking system seriously leaves something to be desired. I had to completely remanufacture the rotary latch and brace the aluminum extrusion on the hatch with steel to actually make the damn thing secure. I've had no leaks and no signs of defects, just some poor design. I now love my canopy and pain in the ass aside, I saved around 600 compared to the Leer 180 I wanted.

I must say, the sealing job on the windoors I purchased after the fact looks like it was done by a 4 year old. They don't leak and work totally fine, but you'd think for the 450 PER SLIDING WINDOOR that they want, they could run a relatively smooth bead. Again, no mechanical flaws, just cosmetic.

Honestly it was the price that caught my attention. To get the options I wanted on an ARE I was quoted $2700. Similar options on the Jason Cap is just over $1500.

Yes I have one on my 04. I got it used off a truck that came out of Texas. Color match is good. It's just like a leer but a little heavier. The rear lock needed to be greased when I got it but has worked for the last 2 years.
I would by it new if I was in the market again.

Go for it, man. They aren't quite on par with Leer, are, or snug top for quality but I've yet to hear a tale about anyone getting burned by Jason.

I will be stopping by the dealer tomorrow to pull the trigger on one. Getting the Pace with cargo side doors and the honeycomb roof reinforcement (incase I decide to put a basket or RTT on it later). The other options I can do myself later if I decide to. Just under $1600 (not counting tax) and the dealer said about 4 weeks for delivery. After I stop in I will let you all know the exact price.

Sweet, man. I can't get over how much cheaper everything in the states is. My Jason trek came to just shy of 2700, with the equivalent Leer being 3300ish. Prices have gotten even worse since then, too.

I looked at the Trek and initially wanted to go that route. The higher roof line was very appealing, but in the end I had stay in budget. The Trek would pushed me well over $2k.

I'd love to see photos and a review if you would share. I don't have a dealer any cost than 200 miles. Can't go see them myself.

After I get the cap ordered I should have a delivery date. Once I get it on I will post pics and a review. I would order today, but they are closed on Sunday's. :/

I will not be ordering with the carpeting. If I decide I want it, I can add it later. Probably for less money.

I have one- they are cheaper but I just don't like the looks of them. They are rounded on the sides and not straight flush. Doesn't leak.IMG_2488.jpg IMG_2451.jpg

When did you buy yours? The display model at the dealer was flush all the way down.
