6qt of 5w30 ( 5.5 if you REALLY want to get picky ) and a 90915 YZZD3 filter from dealer, at least check the engine air filter and the cabin filter ( behind glove box door )

What's an oil filter wrench? I can't just unscrew it?

 

You can but you may need heftier means of unscrewing it. On mine a gorilla crawls under the hood and tightens it.

 

6qts, yep, it's slightly over full, doesn't hurt a damn thing, have run my 5vze and all my other Toyotas the same way, never an issue. The more oil there is to cycle thru the less wear on the oil itself.
I change it every 5k if it needs it or not. Have on everything I've ever owned, never had an issue.

I ran the Camry one 10k cycle and it bugged the crap out of me the whole time.

But if they didn't use an OEM filter and didn't oil the gasket, you might could have some fun getting it off. That's the bonus of the OEM filters, they are sealed AND lubed from the factory.

 

idk why, but always seems mine get tighter. I spin it down by hand til it stops and then maybe a 1/4 turn more.

 

This will be my first since getting the truck this past April. (Yes, I only put 3000miles on her in a year). The dealership I got it from would've done the last change and I'd be willing to bet they did the bare minimum on the change considering the level of customer service I've gotten out of them post sale, and the fact that they sold me a truck with a reverse light out (that is still out )

Ha thanks. I think these have been down on the "discussed products" since I've joined. I'll probably just get whatever they have when I go buy the oil and filter. Probably won't pass inspection with a bad bulb.

 

That stuff at the bottom of the page is gone damn kids ruining that for us.. When's your inspection? Amazon prime 2 days and they are cheaper/same price as bulbs and they look better!

 

Due by the end of April I think. We gotta get my arms on by then since I convinced my wife I needed them to pass inspection bc the truck was out of alignment without them.

Pretty sure we are down for one of these dates. Only thing is that back shock that is messed up, how hard is it to take off and does it have to be sent off to be fixed? Beings that Derek doesn't really read the forum any more I would like to get it done for him. He is gone this week for a few days and next week too. So if you can give me some advice that would be cool.

Cool. It's not hard at all to be taken off. You can rebuild it at home but I would send it off. If he's got the old shocks around I'd put those on in the mean time.

So my understanding of the arb air locker is you have 2 switches.....1 for compressor and 1 for the locker itself

You flip on the compressor and then the locker.....my question is does the compressor need to be on all the time or once the locker is engaged I can cut it off and it will hold pressure?
