hey guys, new member to the community here-been reading a lot of post on 5100s to raise my front up for a smoother ride and better look. I have a TRD wondering if I can get away with just front 5100s or if I need to purchase the rear as well? Thanks.

You don't need the rear shocks, but they will improve the ride.

Smoother ride because of a new/better shock, maybe. But preloading a spring to create lift is a suspension compromising choice. In fact, in certain conditons, it will ride worse.

Selecting a proper spring rate/length to achieve your lift goal, matched with a damper that properly controls that new spring rate is better choice.
