Ok, ok... I freely admit I am completely new to this stuff. I am an old man (52yrs) and I am astounded every time I turn on our computer. A few weeks ago I bought a white '14 Tacoma SR model with 4WD and a 2.7L 5sp manual powertrain. I have never owned a pick up in my life, AND NOW I DO !!! I was tossing around the idea to purchase the full cab model, so I had my wife and two small kids sit in the Access cab first.... my plan was to try it first--- just to "rule it out".... and everybody was unanimous: "dad, this is fine back here..." so I bought the Access cab model (used with 40,000km on it ...hey, I'm Canadian).... the sweetest part was that my wife, who is quite small in stature--- paid for half of the truck!!
Anyhoo, that is not what I was going to tell you all (should mention now that I have never been part of a chat group, so I don't even know if a soul will even respond to me on this)--- the thing is I have really enjoyed driving this for the last few weeks, but I miss the fact there's no fog lights (our other cars have fog lights). So I checked some suppliers/Amazon etc to find that there's quite a selection of fog light kits out there.....(I even called our local Toyota dealer and asked him what the charge would be for a factory kit, installed at the dealership. He said it'd be about $1400 !!!!!!!)
Can anyone out there recommend a kit that I could install myself without to much difficulty and without cutting or splicing wires??

    That is my question.

In the spring, I plan to load my Sherco trials bike in the back, and go someplace fun for a bike ride!!! Still hard to believe I own a truck!! (A buddy o' mine has an Acura MDX, and I have heard him refer to it as a 'truck', but I've just learned that trucks (in Canada anyway) get they're license sticker PUT ON THE FRONT PLATE!!!!

First of all, as one 52 year old first time truck owner to another, congrats!

I, like you, am glad my first was a Tacoma.

I don't have a specific product recommendation, but if you Google search "Tacoma OEM fog light kit" for your year truck, you should find many sources. Leave out "OEM" and the number of aftermarket options is dizzying.

Anyone OTHER THAN the stealership will charge much much less than the $1400 they quoted you if you aren't comfortable with the install.

    Good luck and welcome :)

There's one challenge fog lights won't help with. :D

Thanks. Got a set for $65 CAD, and my nephew had them installed in a bit more than an hour.
