Doors panel inserts are included but not necessary to cover on 2012+. That may have added a few bucks to to already inflated quote ??

If I want to take a go at this myself, what all would I need? You were selling a kit, right? Pliers and hog rings I think?

I have a 2016 with seat airbags, I do a lot of my own auto maintenence, oil change, tuneups, brakes, lifts, radio and speaker changes and think I can DIY the seats but not sure if there is a concern of the airbags firing off.

do you just unhook the battery and unplug the seat or do you need to take other precautions?

Honestly I just unplug the seats and begin but it never hurts to disconnect the battery as a backup. Obviously, if your working on a hard surface be careful not to pinch this yellow plugged harness with the seat bottom. With over 400+ self installs just on this forum alone we've to my knowledge have had zero issues.

So is installing katskins actually a DIY? I'm a mechanic by trade. I can handle nuts and bolts. I saw some videos online about installing katskins but is it actually something thay people who don't do them regularly do?? Or is professional install recommended?

Absolutely a DIY project. These kits only go on one way so I tell people if it's their first or 50th time doing this you should obtain the same results just a longer install time for 1st timers
(approx 8 hours). In addition to the DIY thread on this forum I can be reached just about anytime for support

Wow! I'm seriously considering this now. I always opt for leather seats, but my new 2016 TRD OR DC doesn't have them. I've contacted my two local installers for an installation quote.

I'm going to go back through this thread and check out the colors, stitching, inserts, and such.
