Hi, I'm new here and new to tacomas. I've been all over the threads concerning retrofitted head lights. I was wondering how people feel after having them a few years. Would you do it again? Do they hold up about as well as oem head lights? Any comments are welcome. I really am considering doing the retrofit either myself or buying from someone here.
Its an expensive upgrade either way. I was just wondering how most people felt about it all after a few years in.
    Thanks

Check my build thread...too much to list.
Its probably been just about 3 years now since I installed my retrofits and I haven't had any issues with them. I think the most common issue with the diy guys is sealing the headlight properly after installation. I got my stuff from The Retrofit If you have the skills/patience to do so I'd recommend doing it yourself and save some money.

Had mine since....2013? Done quite a few sets and currently working another personal one. No regrets what so ever. I will do it again in a heart beat. Actually, once you do one, you'll be itching to do another set! One of my favorite mods so far

I have done retrofits on a few of my vehicles and they are awesome! as long as you use quality parts and the headlights are assembled well they will last forever.
Its an expensive upgrade, but in the long run its worth it

I've had mine for about 4 years and have only just recently had to replace the ballasts.

The sealing and aligning is the worst part. I've had to open them a few times to reseal, but they're all good now. The secret is to scrape all the old sealant out with a flat head screw driver and use all new butyl sealant when you close them up. If it worries you just pay to have them professionally done and never worry about it again. Im pretty good with mods and such (retros, raptor grill, dual batteries) but projectors were my least favorite to do DIY. If I were to want to do new projectors again I'd just have someone else do them.

It's probably my favorite mod I've done tho. Every time I drive at night I love them.

I'm on mine with just over a year. I bought the parts directly from TRS with their ongoing group buy, it was super easy to install, just follow the writeups and soften up the glue in the oven, reassemble, and never regret saving the extra money.

I had an issue with an ignitor, not sure what exactly was going on, but I was going through bulbs on the passenger side a little too quickly. TRS has great customer service, and stood behind their products every time, replaced the bulbs the first time, then the ignitor and the bulb, haven't had a problem since that.

Best investment that I've made for the truck so far. Stock lights suck, I was able to get it a little better with LED bulbs, but it still sucked to drive at night. The retrofit is hands down the best money you can spend for visibility.
