Advice needed... raptor lights on a 2016

Does anyone know about where to do the wiring to add some led bolts to my new mesh grille. I would love to plug into my daytime running lights. Anyone know a guide or pdf to show me what and where to plug these led bots into? Thanks

 

As for tapping into your daytime running lights, can't help you there no would I recommend tapping into your factory electrical system while under warranty. The slightest thing goes wrong and you'll have a fight on your hand with Toyota for any electrical warranty work and there have been some quirky issues folks have had with lighting on Tacomas.

For any aftermarket lighting, you'll need a Power Switch & Relay wiring harness kit. You can buy them on ebay cheap and they all work the same. Do not wire the lights up directly to your battery without a relay/fuse system no matter how small. Directions are pretty straight forward.

The relay harness is great for aftermarket lighting but completely overkill if the OP just wants to wire up a couple small individual LEDS to mimic Raptor grill lights. Which was my interpretation of the goal here.

 

Correct... I dont need a switch or anything fancy? Just want my 4 little LEDs to lightup and match when the daytime running leds are on and when I turn my main lights on at night...

 

I didn't know $10 relays for aftermarket LEDs were fancy on a $35k truck. Good luck on your "raptor" lights..

 

I was looking into doing the same.

My thoughts were to tap into either the corner lights, or the fog lights. (Which would give me some control).

But with my current fiasco of ruining my dome lights in now a little hesitant.

If I had a 3rd gen I'd probably be more helpful but go check out the thread on "raptor grill lights" or whatever the title is, should give you some ideas on how to do it. The thread is on 1st/2nd gens but the process should be the same if you can locate the correct wires to tap.

You "could" go overkill/fancy and do the whole relay thing but it's not necessary.

And I've heard of all the crap that goes south with the interior swaps, so it'd make me more leary of tapping into circuits too.
