yeah, agreed. Scale for 44's maybe :p. Sure improved the ground clearance.
Just screwing around until the hobby shop opens. I need solid links, suspension and steering. Maybe a nice set of bead locks and patience to remove the glued tires from the wheels. Wheel weights, smaller pinion, maybe a higher turn motor, etc...the list is long.

I am saving for a new radio to run the servo winch I got. Thought I had a work around I liked with the current radio but need to bite the bullet. Any recommendations for a 4 channel for my scx10

There's a member on RCCrawler.com that makes 'adapters' to run a winch with a low end 3ch Tx/Rx. The simple on/off 3rd channel style. HeyOK is his screen name and I think you can find some on fleaBay, as well. He comes highly recommended by many. Although, I sadly don't have any of his gear.

    Edit:
He's got a .org website, but here's his main sell thread: HeyOK's RC Electronics items (all in one place)

My father called me last night to tell me how much fun he's having with the new truck. He is already wanting to make changes to it (yay, he's hooked!). He asked me about putting larger tires on it to help with ground clearance. I offered to give him my 2.2 ripsaws with the stock plastic wheels and ordered myself some Pitbull Rock Beast II tires.

My question is what sort of modification will need to be done to his SCX10 to fit the 2.2 tires besides raising the body? Possibly longer shocks?

Trimming the body is the easiest way, but not in this situation. Raising the body is good, but too high and the frame looks like it's got a huge body lift.

If you go taller you'll need to go wider. So a set of wheel wideners may be in order. Wraith shocks are 10mm longer and have options with spring rates available.

Thank you. I'm not so sure Dad is too worried about the body sitting too high. He is using the Ram body that came with it most of the time, so cutting isn't really an issue either. I think I have some wideners already that will work & also have some wraith shocks, but no springs for them. Springs are pretty cheap, so I suppose he could run to the hobby shop and get some.

Would anybody be interested in a trade? I have a fully upgraded ARTR Sakura D3 drift car and I'm looking for an scx10 or wraith.

I'd cut the Ram body at the fender flare line to keep it straight and look clean.

    Wraith rates, 14x70mm: Red-2.07 lbs/in, Orange-1.75, Purple-1.43, Black-1.04.

If the Ram has the single spring setup it should be 12.5x60 @ 2.63 - grey.

Depending on how far you cut the body back you may not need the taller shocks. I run a droop on mine with Wraith shocks and purple/front and black/rear.

Loving the SCX10. I've done a few mods and it just gets better with each one.

Still dicking around with the Twin Hammers. Just installed a SENSORED brushless system.
Still has cogging issues although better. I would not call it a vast improvement. Never know until you try though right? :)
The sensorless Tazer/Dynamite combo actually ran smoother aside from the cogging.

Bottom line, not liking brushless in this car. I really haven't had a chance to enjoy running it, I spend too much time screwing with it. Going to brushed next.

Just an FYI, if anyone is running RC4WD steel beadlocks and has stripped a hex nut, rather than spend $10 for 20-25 replacements from them, you can get 100 m2.5 hex nuts on Amazon for around $4 (with free shipping if you have Prime membership). Granted, the RC4WD replacments also come with screws, but I didn't need screws. Just the hex nuts.

    http://www.amazon.com/Plated-Finish...&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00

Only caveat is that they are silver colored instead of black. I don't care too much about that....
