Hey fellas, I just put an all pro 3in leaf pack and toytec adjustable shackles on the rear of my 03 ext cab 5 speed and I'm getting a weird sense of resistance(idk if that's the right word) when accelerating. It's like I have to mash the gas harder to go now and stay on it or it doesn't coast right. The all pros went on a few months ago and I didn't notice a change and then I put the shackles on this weekend and started noticing it. It almost feels like I'm constantly driving into the wind, even at low speeds (I thought it might just be the from the rake of the truck and the new angle it sits at but its happening just as bad at 5mph as it is at 50. My mileage has gone down from 20-21 to 17-18). The drivers side is set at 2inches and the passengers at 1.5 on the shackles to try and fix the taco lean. I was thinking maybe the lift was pulling the parking cable some, or maybe I need to install a driveline drop... Maybe it is just how the aerodynamics are changed... Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Wonder if you have the pinion angle too far off and you're binding a U-joint. Did you do a carrier bearing drop yet?

Also - what size tire were you on, and what did you go to?

I've had 255s the only thing I changed was the shackles.

It looks like the drive line is held to the crossmember with 2 bolts.... Could I just throw a stack of washers in there between the crossmember and drive line? No sense in throwing away money on machined aluminum right?

yes you could, but your probably gonna need longer bolts for the amount of angle your going to have to correct

Check and make sure the e-brake isn't dragging. Some of our trucks have the e-brake cable that goes from drum to drum above the axle, and some are under. If yours is like mine, it is above the axle. I had to make brackets for the levers on the drum to get the cable off the leaf pack. It was making the cable stick and not releasing the e-brake completely until I got it up and out of the way. ended up with a slightly warped drum out of the deal before I caught on to the problem. I hope this helps.

What did you do to the brake proportioning valve after you lifted to compensate for the added bed/frame height?

I would try lowering the BPV arm some to see if that makes a difference. Raising the arm increases the rear braking.
