I have a 2011 4.0 tacoma. I was out mudding yesterday and everything was fine as far as switching between 2wd all the way through 4hi to 4 lo and the diff lock. After the day was over now I cant get it to engage back to 2wd. I can hear it trying to but it wont go. Also a "clank" type noise happens while driving. It gets louder and faster the faster I go. I originally thought some debris from the mud but I have pressure washed underneath and I still hear it. I know its not good to drive in 4wd on the road. I have an appointment tomorrow with the local dealer. anybody have ideas?
