I've heard it is almost a random tinging noise when idling... But I've owned a scion tc with Toyotas 2.5L I4 and it had a lot of valve noise ticks, it had some oil blowby but ran great for 160k until it was totaled..

OP, you may have a time bomb planted within your vehicle. I suggest you drive it out into the middle of nowhere and leave it in case it explodes. :violent:

OP creates a thread dropping a dookie as his first and only post then vanishes. Yep, legit. :smash:

I don't understand this troll business. What is the actual purpose of trolling? Anyone know? On top of that, how do you even find tacomaworld to troll in? This is one minute subset of society hanging out in here. It's not like facebook where I guess your trolling activities might gain some traction.

Well, the vacuum pump for the brake assist is probably true. Turbocharged vehicles have them, and it would make sense that an Atkinson hybrid would have it too. Might be some extra "ticking", but doubt it would be noticeable to most.

What gives credence to the troll is that no other follow-up posts defending his/her position. Only if you give him an email will the discussion continue. So I guess you are right.. it's not a troll but a TUNA.... real fishy!

@0210, While you do have some valid points, things also seem fishy here. If the OP was really concerned about this issue, he would be active on his OWN thread. Also, if he were so upset and will never have a Toyota, then why create a profile on a Toyota forum and make one post about how you are upset. So, he may not know how to upload a video, but I´m sure someone in his life could help him with that, did you give him your e-mail address? Another thing, if he was having a concern with his Tacoma, he could have created a profile, viewed a few threads, made a few comments, then if he didn´t come across anything that satisfied him, that would be the time to create this thread. A simple search on here for Engine Idle Tick brings up a few post. Here is a good read, the link can be found through the Tips and Tricks on the 2016 Tacoma thread, but I will post a direct link in case it is too difficult for someone to find it.

So, OP, if you return, please read this. It will calm your nerves and hopefully reassure you that Toyota is a very strong, and reliable vehicle.
