Just got 33's put on today. I've got a full size spare and matching wheel! The Cooper ST Maxx won't fit under the truck. I can't do a bumper mount carrier as my truck barely fits in the garage as it is (6" to spare). Plus I just installed a brand new Pelfreybilt bumper.

I'd like to do a shell/topper some day so I'm hoping to perhaps find a secure (anti theft) solution to mount the tire to the sidewall of the bed or against the cab. Perhaps using the rail system built into the bed. This way I could still crawl into the bed to camp out.

Has anyone already solved this one? Any ideas?

The commercial mounts I'm finding mount on angles or at the tailgate/bumper.

While not really a permanent or secure solution. I carry a second spare during hunting season and I simply use a ratchet strap with the bed cleats to hold the tire up against the front of the bed. My tool/recovery gear tote goes behind that. Then I lock up my cap for security.

With a SB, I wouldn't be able to sleep back there at all.

There's a thread about making a 33" tire fit in the stock location .

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.

I have other pics at home as well... Use a simple bike/cable lock around the wheel and thrown through one of the added cleats.

I'd like to mount vertically to keep bed space though.

I personally would never trust the bed rails to hold a tire, but that's just me. If I need the space inside I just remove the 3 way rachet and prop it up on the side of the bed. Not sure I'd drive like that, though.
