I put my hi-lift in my toolbox with some cloth wrapping the ends so it doesn't bounce everywhere.

Dammit, that's what I was talking about. With my roll n lock tonneau cover I can't get to my bed rails

You can't even get to the back one? My tonneau made it so I can't get to my side ones but I could get to the back.

An old picture but it is still mounted in the same spot, onto my roof rack. Does it rattle? Sure does. Been there for four years now and I only notice it every now and then.

Couldn't you just add rubber bushings to help with the rattling? And where is a good place to buy a strong roof rack?

I have a few on there to help with the rattling. The rest of the rattling comes from the actual jack itself. The roof rack I am using is made by FrontRunner.

Mine is "mounted" against the wall of my garage....much to my dislike.

Lent mine to a friend a few years ago. He promptly left it laying on his tailgate as he drove away from his house one morning...so...my hi-lift jack ended up belonging to someone else. Then my friend decided to by me a new one, "almost like the one I had". It came from Tractor Supply and was so cheap, so junky, Harbor Freight would have declined to stock it. It will raise just fine until all at once with no warning at all, it drops. Not something I want to risk life, limb, or truck with.

That, and I've had my truck (older one) broke into 2 times. First time they bashed out the side window with a fire extinguisher, 2nd time was with my FIRST hi-lift jack. Truck bed stays empty most of the time now.

I'm sorry to hear that man. My highlift Jack will be in my bed with the tonneau cover closed and locked but I was also thinking about making some sort of lock for the jack

Mine is also mounted to the wall in the garage.

But when on family trips to the back country it goes in the roof rack. Mine makes zero noise because I cut up some closed cell foam from an exercise mat and put it into the foot front and back. Like magic it stays in there and keep everything completely silent.

Simple u-bolts hold the jack on. Daystar handle holder keeps the handle in check.
