Was my truck in a wreck? Do you have these ripples in your engine bay?

Hey guys, some of you guys know but I've been dealing with a window leak on a certified 2014 Tacoma where the dealership has been less than helpful. I was wondering if you could look at your truck and see if you have these deformations and I can call it normal or if it's a sign of a collision. Thanks!

Thanks! It's sold to me with a certified pre-owned warranty and a clean car-fax but there have been a number of issues that make me think different.

That looks like body work has been done from a wreck, what other issues are you experiencing?

Have you taken it to an independent Body shop and asked their opinion?

I'm on my 3rd windshield, all of which have leaked and had 2 rear tires blow out on me in the first 1500miles of owning it. I bought it with 17k miles on it. I'm going to take it to a body shop today and see what they say. The paint isn't flaking and the bolts dont look worked.

I just checked my truck. Same thing on mine. No wreck. Correlation does not imply causation.

Thanks Mike! I'm trying to find a reason to why it would leak though.

Hmm, that is shitty. Leaks can be a bitch to diagnose. Were the windshields replaced because of the leak or due to cracks?

I brought it in for a leak at the corner of the overhead console just behind the rear view mirror, they replaced it with aftermarket glass (dont know why). Brought it back in b/c it started leaking through the a-frame pillar and asked for original toyota glass to be put back in. now its back in the shop for a leak from the original spot, the over head console just in front of the rear view mirror. It takes a few days to a couple months for the leak to appear, I'm not sure what conditions allow the water to get in but I do live in Washington where it rains quite a bit. http://imgur.com/rAhamXv

Have those clowns at the dealership check the drip rails, may be an issue with the clips or the rail itself. Or maybe the windshield isnt seating properly? I wouldn't worry about OEM glass or what not, just need to make sure they seat it properly.

    You have a roof rack?

You don't happen to have a factory roof rack do you? Some people have had issues with them leaking...

No roof rack, the plastic runners are in and still have the factory adhesive keeping them there. The glass they replaced it with was terrible, I do recommend the factory glass, especially for a warranty repair. Are the clips on the back side of the cab?

There was a wind noise TSB issued several years ago. The solution was to apply more glass adhesive/sealant around the windshield molding. Maybe give that a try? (I.e. there's a Toyota-approved adhesive/sealant that the dealer can apply in-situ.)

If the windshield was replaced and in bad shape and leaking take a look under the moulding at the top of the windshield. Mine had been replaced and was leaking. When i pulled the moulding i found a spot where they had cut through the paint and a small hole had rusted and was causing water to leak into the cab. The drivers a pillar trim was full of water also.

When they cut the glass out they dont always do a caeful job and get the paint as well. Glass company ended up paying for it to get fixed and after talking to thier customer service it is pretty common.
