    Hey guys!
My names Anthony, first time on the forums and I figured it was about time to get on here because today my truck just got approved for a full frame replacement. I live in Vermont where it snows a lot and we use salt on the roads. So here is a quick run down of my truck and how it got to this point. (p.s pics of this will be up soon)

A month ago roughly I sent my truck in to get the recall inspection done. They replaced the seat belt assembly, this was one of them. Then the rest of the appointment was to inspect my frame as well as my leaf springs. I have already known that I had broke middle lead on my passenger side they just needed to verify. After the appointment they deemed my framed "OK" but will need a new cleaning and undercoating, and my new leafs were ordered also. No one told me the leaf springs were a 9 month back order process but that's alright either way, just nobody bothered to mention this after I called multiple times to check if my parts arrived.

So I said the hell with it and booked my undercoating appointment anyways since winter is right around the corner up here. I dropped my truck off this morning and everything went smoothly. Upon service check in I had one stipulation.

About a week after I found my broken leaf spring I was getting gas, shortly after I filled up I took a nice sturdy step onto my running boards and my running board dropped to the concrete :laughing:. So after breaking off the other side and throwing it in my bed and leaving a pile of rust crumbs under the gas pump I proceeded on my way. That weekend I jacked it up and took off the other side running board as well as the mounting plates under the access cab doors. I proceeded to try and remove the front plates under the front of the front doors where the cross member is under your tranny but there was no way to remove the bolt without cutting it(how you get them on to begin with I am still not sure). So the front mounting plates for the running boards remained since they broke off where the running tube met the mounting plate.

The above is relevant because I told them to please remove these plates before they coat my frame because they will hold salt and dirt and water and no longer serve a purpose. They said they had to charge me, I agreed anyways. An hour before my shift ended today I got a call from the service manager saying they found a dollar coin sized hole in my frame behind my driver side mounting plate:drunk: haha (will provide pictures soon I promise).

Sorry for the story but I would of NEVER of seen this or been approved for this work if I hadn't made that request. They would of coated right over this and never blinked an eye. My truck has 95,000 on it and is a 2007 and I am the second owner, bought it with 50,000 on it. I will provide updates throughout this process. Stay tuned!

I am do for the frame, leafs (and shackles,U-bolts ect.) and whatever else in 6-8 months was the estimate. WOO!:headbang:

    Update guys.

I forgot to get pictures of the hole for you guys, my apologies. The truck is in the shop and since there are many frames being replaced it is estimated around 2 weeks until its done. They also agreed to install my add a leaf and spacers for my 3" lift wile the frame is off so I get a free alignment plus my lift! :bananadance:

Looks like it is getting stripped. They called because I needed a new lower steering shaft/universal and two rear shocks which I knew about. They also said my e-brake housing was broken but they wanted $450.00 for it! I said no way to that.

More to come, or not I hope!
