I a missing a cap and I have a plug that has no obvious connection. I am sure this is an easy one for you experienced guys, but I have always been a Bronco guy until now.

The plug is right behind the intake tube in the back passenger side of the engine bay. It looks similar to a lightbulb plug.

The cap is pretty obvious (paper towels).

    Thanks for this great forum!

    Welcome!

I'm not familiar with the 1st gens....

Radiator overflow tank or windshield washer tank.

The plug probably goes to an option your truck doesn't have.

Does it have cruise control? If not, that is likely the plug for it.
The missing cap is windshield washer reservoir

That plug would be for the cruise control.

I don't have cruise control, but that is exactly where my ABS sits.

Thanks for all the replies. Strange place for washer fluid but after process of elimination, that sounds correct.
As far as the plug; I do have a cruise switch inside on the steering column, am I missing a computer for it?

All my trucks have the washer fluid located in that general area, where have yours been?

As I said in my original post, I have always owned Broncos. This is my first Tacoma. I thought this forum was full of nice helpful people. Are you trying to be rude? Thanks for your super helpful input.

Just asking a simple question, calm down.

I have owned a lot of different vehicles, always have washer tank in front. Where would they be on a bronco?

On the Bronco they were big tanks connected to the coolant overflow. I guess the neck with no visible tank threw me off a bit. I am sure there is a bunch I am going to learn.

Guess it's been a few years since I looked at my 1992 chevy. There was a lot more room under the hood back then. Mine is similar to your bronco, likely similar era.

If your truck came from the factory with cruise control, then yes, you are missing something. The control module with a cable running from the throttle body would have been mounted on the passenger side wheel well. At about the middle of the hump.

The washer tank is actually down lower, with a long neck to fill it. That's why it's not quite as obvious. Look straight down along the neck and you'll see it.
