So I was driving to work this morning and I witnessed this motorcycle accident. In the video, you can see the motorcycle pass by in the far right lane. At that point, he hammered the throttle and swerved back into the lanes of traffic. It looked like he wanted to split the #1 and #2 lanes, but somehow he misjudged his speed and position. I watched the video over and over and I don't think he even hit the brakes. Traffic was doing about 40 mph and he was probably going 70 mph at the time of the collision. The bike exploded into pieces and was smoldering as it laid on the road. I kept looking for the guy, but I didn't see him laying on the road. When I got near the SUV, I saw his legs sticking out of what used to be the back window of the SUV. Luckily, there happened to be an EMT coming up the frontage road so the guy got medical help immediately after the collision.

I have see these kind of videos many times, but when it happens right in front of you, it is really shocking. pardon all the swearing :)

It was very early in the morning so it was still dark so the video isn't super detailed (this dash cam does way better during the daylight). Its better if you watch it full screen. and..... I fixed the date/time :)

Yikes. When I was in the army they would show us stuff like that during our safety briefings for a long weekend. I remember one where a motorcyclist was dangling from the back of a semi trailer by his head.

No sympathy for dummies, see motorcycle accidents all the time. Only feel bad for the car or cars he or she hit, which I am sure messed up their day pretty much. Not trying to be harsh, but if you drive like an asshole you get what you deserve.

You sound like you're loaded, lol. But seriously I think it's time for a dash cam. My wife and I almost got creamed from a car that crashed into the center divider and it nearly flipped over on top of us.

Yeah, I've seen that as well. Now, whenever I come up on semis I can't help but think that I don't want to be that guy and I give myself extra room.

I smashed the rear taillight on the driver side and have coated the bottom with some New England rust.
    This, I don't doubt :D

Good thing you got around the cars that decided to just park and block traffic. In my area, they close roads at the drop of a hat, and you can wait hours for the police to do their investigation and clear the scene.
