I raised the idea with my dealer and they said they would be perfectly willing to install the blower and reflash just like with the TRD version. The bully dog isn't necessary. If they sold the blower as a standalone product and reduced the price to what we all know they were making a profit at before these things would be flying out the door. $3.8-4.2k for the blower, $350-550 for the fit kit. So now I wait...

On bully dogs site they have a GT platinum plus handheld tuner which has pre loaded maps for S/C'd tacomas only. The price is 471.90, so that's most likely the tuner that comes in the kit, quite the price hike for a sub $500 handheld.

I find that second picture facinating. All those superchargers in their little cubbyholes, like shoes.

How much was the cost of the Toyota reflash? I think I remember $75-150?

I just wonder how much less it would really be as a "tuner kit".

Old Toyota's, Power Wagon, and a Tacoma
Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
I am really happy with the power of the TRD supercharged 4.0. It really is what the thing should have been stock. No race car but its about as work horse as a "small" truck can get. And its pretty fun.

And i was looking at 2015 m8dsize truck reviews. In one bracket there was every truck in the US market for 2015, tacoma was last overall and GM twins won 1 and 2. Personally think it was a terrible set of tests and reviews but i found it interesting that the Tacoma had the least HP and was knocked for it but had the most torque with no mention.

I am still a believer that torque is what makes or breaks a truck and thats the reason every good toyota pickup engine has been the best in class, other than reliability.

Like the ford 4cyl vs 22r back when fords made more HP on paper and yoter crap just had more usability with the broad torque.

That's because Tacoma's have been leading the mid size race for like a decade and all the reviewers want to see something else take over, so Tacoma's always get shit reviews compared to other midsizes these days. Resale value speaks for itself though.

Yep. Just set and forget. Only thing you will see is one LED warning light. For the. Tank level. I like how the controller is progressive.

Damn. I was gonna wait until a plug and play tuner came out (fingers) crossed for UCON in the next year or two) and get that kit, the 2.7 pulley and the 7th injector

Not if you have the Temp/Compress. I didn't even know that there was a dual compartment/sunglass holder!

The 2nd Gen Tacoma is 10 years old. How would it look if a 10 year old truck beat the snot out of a new GM?

    Oh wait, it does.....
