Your a lucky guy. It's too bad the lousy dealers bring down the rep of the decent ones. The dealer I bought my truck from has sold out to a larger Corporate dealer, and now it's just about a how ya doin hand shake, trying to upsell me services that aren't needed, overworked techs, fake concern, and trying to sell me a new truck. The next dealer is over 100 miles away. I find out far more on this blog as to what's going on with recalls Etc. than they will ever tell me. If you lie to my face once, or don't perform work that you claimed you did, I'm done doing business with you. I use a well respected AAA approved shop in town for maintenance that I cant do, or don't want to do myself, and have had nothing but positive results. Any auto shop can do warranty work. Folks that get jerked around by their dealer should find a good local private shop to do business with. It may take a little time, but it's worth it.

^^ My dealer is that dealership owner who got super duper rich with his ONE toyota dealership, and instead
of just spitting out more and more dealerships, he just made this one super huge, and the rest of his time he is a
large landowner and land developer, body shop owner.....leases his other land to chevy dealers...etc.

but his focus is his one award winning Toyota/Scion shop, and the obvious used car annex

    One awesome dealership
instead of those other clowns who own about 12 dealerships all half-shitty.

so yeah in my experience this guy rocks. I am sure some people have bad experiences
here like anyplace....but it is rare to see anyone having a bad time at this place at all.

I don't disagree with you at all. Many advisors are given the position without qualifications and have to build knowledge on the fly. Some are also afraid to own a mistake and resort to excuses. I was in auto parts for a few years before I became an advisor, and it was a HUGE help as it put me way ahead of the learning curve.

I also agree a good shop should have a foreman. We had a manager who acted as a foreman, but he also acted as an advisor. On big jobs, I'd ditch the white polo and help out in the service bay when needed... but corporate hated that and we couldn't do that when they visited lol
