    OCD Warning

I anticipate my 5050 LED strip will arrive tomorrow and I planned to prepare the majority of the wiring tonight. I really want this the wiring to be as stealth as possible. I've even gone through the trouble of removing the rails to make it easier to clean and stick the lights on as well as to look for a way to hide the wires. After a beer and about 15 minutes of staring, I can't see how I can completely hide the wiring. I thought about notching the rail and running the wires between the bed and the rail but that could impede the installation of some future accessory that requires full depth of the rail.

I've googled and searched the forums for close-up pictures but most pictures are from too far away and too dark in the areas of interest. So now i turn to my fellow TW'ers, how did you do it? Please share some pics. Many thanks in advance.

    Aloha, Rob

EDIT: Specifically, I'm looking for pictures showing the wires coming into the bed, leading to and between each rail.

I drilled three holes in my bed. One for a switch, and one on each side for the wires entering the bed. I just tucked the wires up tight into the intersection of the rail bottom and the bed and used a hot glue gun with a dab of glue every 6 inches or so to keep the wires tucked up into place. You can't see the wires unless you lay on your back in the bed and look closely at the bed rails from underneath. I will try and snap a pic later if you want.

    pull rails off

drill new holes as close to tails as possible but fit into your scheme....

run wires under truck on top of frame past gas tank and up behind taillights and then eek them out
just under the rails in the new holes you made. done right you can hide the wiring nearly 100%

So I ran the wires through the drain holes at the top and bottom of the rails. I also opted out of mounting LEDs on the front rail. I did this for the sake of symmetry and hiding the wires. This also leaves me with almost 8ft more light which i will use for hood lights on a future project.
