Ok so sorry to bring up old thread, but I finally got my insurance settled (had it in my dads name at the moment and he was out of state). I paid $12,500 for the truck with 50k on it, guy I got it from babied it at the dealership etc... Its a great truck even if its wrecked, only 120k on her 2004 model. They are giving me $13,900 and letting me keep it for $1200 !!! I'm so happy! Going to see if its frame is too bent and whatnot then try to fix cab for a work truck. Maybe use the extra money to get a 2nd gen I dunno yet tho...

Buying a 2nd gen with that monies would be a complete disservice to that poor trusty '04 1st gen....if you were to bury him, he would be rolling his wheels in his grave.

 

Wow, glad you are alive from that one. Whew.
Now the work begins. Good luck with the rebuild (new or old) process.

 

How did all those buckets stay in during the wreck?

 

thats a lot of damage to try and repair..... I don't think it will be worth it.... my best guess is that if youre a welder, you can just replace the cab with a roll cage and put some custom panels on. turn it into a real prerunner

or maybe find a good cab in a junk yard and swap it?
