I've got a 1999 single cab 4wd 2.7L. I'm needing to replace my catalytic converter and 02 sensors and was curious about getting a whole new exhaust. When I bought the truck I had to have a parts house muffler welded on. The pipe had gone bad right behind the cab, so I went the cheap route and had it welded there which I think has added some cab noise. I just want an exhaust that will quiet it down and give the right amount of back pressure.

I forgot to add I want a complete exhaust. Headers all the way to the muffler. I'd like to add some performance and maybe have a low rumble, but nothing that sounds like a bee in a tin can or that hurts my performance.

As I live in California, I can only suggest what I've done.
Doug Thorley alumicoated shorty header from LCE and Magnaflow muffler, complete with tubing going over the axle and dumping right between the spare tire & leaf spring.

If you have zero smog requirements, there may be other options for you.

    Good luck.

i got the entire LCE exhaust system because my manifold was cracked and the catalytic converter went out. I replaced it all including my oxygen sensors and it has been running great.

Check out the build for more info.
