New truck (4k miles, 2014) and I hear the secondary air pump buzz when I turn the truck off for a second. Is that normal? It's in front by the right front headlight. what's this thing do? Not sure if I ever noticed this sound before I go the K and N CAI.

truck of course running perfectly. it sounds like this thing just blows air through the exhaust to clear all the fumes from the pipes when the truck is shutdown. I'm the last thing from a mechanic though...

I see your comment on my thread....mine has always done this when i turn the engine off, even before the K&N CAI. But, after i installed the CAI, i noticed that pumps runs for a good 20-30 seconds at start-up....i dont know why. i thought it was a "electircal brain fart" because when i disconnected the air flow sensor and the pump, i didnt disconnect the battery. i just undid the plugs and then connected to the K&N.

So, i tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, but that did not solve the problem.

The only issue i can seem to think it is, is that the pump is not level with the supplied K&N braket where as it was level when located in factory spot, or the hose is a little pinched against the radiator cap.

I just installed a K&N CAI on my 2012 Tacoma and it does the same thing. It probably did it before the CAI, but when the pump is relocated the rubber mounts are not reused with the mounting brackets. The mounting brackets are bolted directly to the engine bay, thus you can hear the pump running. I am considering putting some rubber grommets where the brackets attach to the engine bay to see if that helps.
