I spent a couple days at Land Between the Lakes this weekend. It was a great time with some even better people. I should have some action shots after the photo dump happens, but this will have to do for now.

Continuing the "identify and modify" theme, I learned a lot from this trip about what needs to be done next. My primary hindrance was ground clearance. At 2" lift and 32" tires, my truck just wasn't quite tall enough. I spent a lot of time dragging my undercarriage and rear diff on deeply rutted trailed like this.

With that being said, 33's and an ifs skid are on deck. Also, I never got around to relocating my trailer harness and this happened.

That won't be a problem once I get the new(ish) rear bumper installed. Many thanks to @Robertocritser for the bumper and @beertimecontinuum for delivery.

This is the trail we got down and found a dead end. Didn't save any of the ensuing recoveries since my phone ran out of storage space

@cstallings Update on my CB setup if you're still curious. I am thoroughly satisfied with the radio itself. The issues I was having earlier turned out to be user error. A little squelch control was all it took. I used the radio for two days this weekend and it performed flawlessly. Granted, I was only talking to people who were riding with our group so I have no idea what the range of the radio is. My only complaint is with my magnetic mount Cobra antenna. It was knocked off the roof at least five or six times by low hanging limbs. This was VERY frustrating. I would jump to the conclusion that magnetic mount antennas are a no-go for trailing, but there were several others running magnetic mounts that had no issues. Maybe it is just the model that I have. Anyway, hope this helps.

It seemed to do a lot better once you cleaned it really well. I don't think it ever came down again after that, right?

Yes, that is correct. Good point. Maybe a pack of baby wipes needs to become a standard part of my gear bag.

Operation tube bumper begins tomorrow after church. I hope to have enough time to cut the spikes off the end of the tube, take the whole thing back to bare steel, and get a coat of primer on.
