    5100's @.85 w/ 1/2" shims in back 265/75/16 tires
So, I am getting 265/75/16s and am also considering a slight lift. I like the bilstein 5100's set at 0.85 but I would also like my truck to maintain the factory rake...would 5100s at .85 with stock coils still result in a lower front end or would I need to add a 1" block in the back?

You could add the 1/2" toytec shim blocks in the rear. If I don't go with a 2" lift, that's what I plan on doing.

Thanks guys, Mason, that looks great. I still may go with the 1/2 shims (didn't know that they had 1/2") because it sounds ideal and easy to do. That along with 5100s all around and at .85 in the front should give me just what I am looking for.

By any chance did you measure to see how much lift you got in the front with the 5100's?

I also plan to do the 1/2" shim, anyone know if that will need new u-bolts?

I was wondering the same thing, I didn't order new u bolts because it looks like I will be ok underneath I'll see when everything comes in.

I think moderate lifts like this, less than 2" are the way to go. It fits the scale of the truck, and it avoids all the alignment and vibration issues that higher lifts seem to create.

The blocks are the same price as Toytec, but if they do require new u-bolts, they're cheaper at Wheeler's.

Part number: TTFS, they are not listed where the other block lifts are, they are listed in the suspension accessories area...1/2 flat shims.

No, they install between the factory leaf and axle.

Ok, so I finally got everything together:

5100's all around with 0.85 setting in the front and Toytec 1/2" shims in the back
    265/75/16 P-rated Falken wildpeak AT3W tires

I think it looks pretty good, rides great, lifted it slightly and still getting decent gas mileage....I have the Manual trans, with new tires slow driving 50mph babying it around 20+mpg, fast on the highway around 72mph dropped from mid 18's to upper 17's with correction factor of 3.3%.

It would look better without the air dam but I put in on for fuel economy and to keep salt off the undercarriage in the winter.

Some of the trucks I've seen with just the 0.85 5100's up front seem almost like the front is a hair too high ... I think the 1/2" shims in the back made a subtle but good change to the f/r balance.

Do u think the 1/2 inch shim would be enough with the weight of a canopy. Or should I step up to a 1".

You could always contact the manufacturer and ask how heavy the canopy is, and then load up the bed with sandbags or something you have lying around to weight it down and get a guestimate of the drop from the weight.

Looks good and I'm looking to go this way myself. I'm assuming you didn't need to install longer U bolts with the 1/2 inch shims?

    Not sure about the canopy.
I installed the rear bilsteins and shims myself to save $$ and had the tire shop install front struts with stock springs, mount tires and alignment.

Shims in the back include everything, no need for new u bolts but you do have to replace the center alignment bolt. One word of advice...the bolts toytec sells are too long, you can install it but need to hacksaw about 1" off of it (easy to do) and it is easier to do it prior to install. I feel like blocks would have been easier to install...had to take u bolts off anyway but wouldn't need to remove that center bolt.
