    Greetings. Long time not post.

I have an alpine w505 (double din with blackbird dock). I have tried the metra kit as well as the scosche kit. The metra kit fit OK but wasnt happy with the look. I have used scosche kits in the past and think they are the best looking.

Here is my issue. When I installed the Scosche kit, there is zero way that the trim piece will fit on and let the screen fold down.

Are you guys with the DD units and the scoche kits using the install cage that your head units came with or the mounting brackets that came with the unit? The brackets look like its put the head unit at an odd angle. These DD units are pretty heavy.

I sent an email to scosche support and here is what I got.

"If companies are not making head units to standard sizes then that is their bad".

Not very helpful. My email was very polite too... Oh well.

And ideas? I did a search and found a few kenwoods but it looked very tight that I cant imagine they are folding down without issues.

    Thanks.

I can't comment on the double Scosche kit, but on my single Scosche kit, I had to use the trim piece that came with the HU, because the Scosche Unit wouldn't fit!
