    Hey guys quick question,

Finally got myself a 3.4 to go along with my weak ass 4 bangers. Do both motors (2.7-3.4) utilize the same oil filter??

Looking at the Napa Catalog Both the 3.4 and the 2.7 call for the same part # FIL 1348 (Napa Gold)

Quite possible that Toyota might use a different number for the same filter between two different engines .

Because they love to do that!!

Interestingly (and conveniently) enough, my '04 Highlanders v6 and my '13 Tacoma's 2.7 use the same filter as well.

Purolators web site was my reference.

    Yes.

It's also worth noting 90915-YZZG1 and 90915-YZZD3 filters are interchangeable, with the 90915-YZZD3 offering a slightly higher capacity.

Yes they do. Another weird tidbit: the filter for my 2000 Tacoma is the same filter for my 2014 Ford Explorer.

Was a PreRunner, now it isn't
I use the D3 as well. My old 4.0 4Runner ran those and now I run them on my 3.4. Makes it exactly 6 quarts
